Individual and Couples Counseling

A Journey Within with Jodi Hardesty LPC

It is time to start healing with compassionate therapy and learn tools and techniques to increase happiness and reduce stress

I provide therapy for people at different stages of life and relationships—whether you're working through personal challenges, strengthening a partnership, or navigating family dynamics.

Individual Counseling

A space to understand yourself more deeply, work through anxiety or emotional struggles, and break patterns that affect your relationships and daily life.

You might be:

  • Overthinking relationships or decisions

  • Struggling with anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm

  • Trying to understand recurring patterns in your life

Relationship Counseling

Support for couples who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, or navigate difficult transitions together.

Together, we can work on:

  • Communication and conflict resolution

  • Rebuilding connection and emotional safety

  • Navigating life changes, stress, or disconnection

Family Counseling

Guidance for families who want to improve communication, resolve conflict, and create a more supportive and understanding environment.

This may include:

  • Parent-child conflict

  • Family transitions or stress

  • Ongoing tension or miscommunication

Why Patterns Keep Repeating

Many of the struggles we face—in relationships, in families, and within ourselves—come from patterns shaped by past experiences, communication styles, and emotional responses.

You might notice:

  • The same conflicts happening again and again

  • Strong emotional reactions that feel hard to control

  • Difficulty expressing needs or feeling understood

These patterns are not permanent—and with the right support, they can change.

A Bit About Me

Start your healing journey today!

My work is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate anxiety, emotions, and relationship challenges—so they can reconnect with a sense of clarity, stability, and joy.

Having personally worked through anxiety, I understand how overwhelming emotions can feel. Many people try to avoid or suppress difficult feelings, but that often makes things more intense—leading to stress, disconnection, or conflict in relationships.

You might notice:

  • Feeling anxious or overwhelmed in relationships

  • Reacting quickly or shutting down emotionally

  • Struggling to express your needs clearly

  • Wanting to feel more in control of your emotions

These experiences are more common than you think—and they can change.

Why is it so hard to manage emotions?

Many of us were never taught how to safely experience and process difficult emotions. Instead, we learn to avoid them, push them down, or react impulsively.

This can lead to:

  • Increased anxiety or emotional overwhelm

  • Strained relationships

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others

My goal is to help you develop healthier ways to understand, process, and respond to your emotions—without fear or judgment.

My Approach to Counseling

I offer a collaborative, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly.

Through counseling, you can:

  • Learn practical coping strategies for anxiety and stress

  • Improve communication in your relationships

  • Gain clarity around patterns and behaviors

  • Feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally balanced

Whether you’re seeking individual counseling, relationship counseling, or family support, we’ll work together to create meaningful and lasting change.

What does healing and growth look like?

Healing doesn’t mean avoiding difficult emotions—it means learning how to move through them safely and effectively.

Together, we can help you:

  • Feel more in control of your emotional responses

  • Strengthen your relationships

  • Build resilience and self-awareness

  • Create a greater sense of calm and well-being

You don’t have to do this alone

Seeking support is a powerful first step toward change.

You deserve to feel understood, supported, and emotionally safe. I’m here to guide you as you move toward a more balanced, connected, and fulfilling life.

Your well-being matters—and your path toward healing and growth can start today.

Therapy Aproaches

Every client is different, which is why I integrate multiple evidence-based therapy approaches tailored to your needs.

EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is an effective approach for reducing trauma and anxiety symptoms.

It helps you:

  • Process difficult experiences

  • Reduce emotional intensity

  • Move forward without feeling stuck in the past

This approach can often lead to meaningful progress in fewer, more focused sessions.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact your emotions and behaviors.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Often used in couples counseling, EFT focuses on strengthening emotional bonds and improving connection in relationships.

Mindfulness-Based Techniques

Mindfulness helps you become more aware of your thoughts and emotions so you can respond calmly rather than react automatically.

Psychodynamic Therapy

This approach explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns influence your current thoughts, emotions, and relationships.

A Happier, Healthier You Starts Here

Individual therapy is a space where you can slow down, understand what you're going through, and begin making meaningful changes in your life.

In our sessions, we’ll focus on your current challenges while also exploring the deeper patterns that may be influencing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

You might be seeking individual therapy if you:

  • Feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained

  • Overthink situations or struggle to make decisions

  • Notice patterns in your relationships that you want to change

  • Want to feel more confident, grounded, and in control

Therapy isn’t just about talking—it’s about learning how to respond to life differently.

Together, we will:

  • Address current issues and emotional challenges

  • Identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns

  • Develop healthier coping strategies

  • Improve emotional awareness and regulation

  • Build confidence and clarity in your decisions

My goal is to help you reframe your reactions and give you practical tools you can use in everyday life.

Strengthen Your Relationship with the Right Support

When you want to feel heard, understood, and valued in your relationship, it can be incredibly painful when that connection feels out of reach.

Many couples find themselves:

  • Having the same arguments over and over

  • Struggling to communicate without conflict or shutdown

  • Feeling unheard, disconnected, or misunderstood

  • Wanting to reconnect but not knowing how

You’re not alone—and your relationship can improve with the right support.

Couples therapy provides a structured, supportive space where both partners can express themselves openly and begin to understand each other more deeply.

Together, we will:

  • Improve communication and listening skills

  • Identify and shift unhealthy patterns

  • Navigate conflict in a more productive way

  • Rebuild trust and emotional connection

  • Strengthen your sense of partnership and understanding

Having a compassionate and experienced therapist to guide these conversations can make a meaningful difference.

Why is communication so difficult in relationships?

When communication breaks down, it’s often not because you don’t care—it’s because expressing deeper emotions and needs can feel vulnerable or overwhelming.
